Flying High in Palm Beach
We spent a very colorful weekend in Palm Beach, taking in the ocean breezes, brilliant bougainvillea, and beautiful sunrises. This town certainly has a distinct perspective on style, and our maxi scarves and Bianca wrap fit right in. Check out our favorite stops and how we dressed along the way.
sleep
If you’re looking for an iconic hotel that’s right near all the action, you can’t go wrong with The Colony Palm Beach. The “pinkest hotel in Palm Beach” has all the personality you want with a fashionable crowd always in-house. Pick up one of their beach cruisers for a charming jaunt around the island.
eat
Pull up a chair at Le Bilboquet’s latest post. We enjoyed lunch here so much that we went back again! The ambiance is perfectly civilized, the food is delicious (get the calamari salad), and the people watching is oh-so-good.
Another recent addition to the Palm Beach dining scene, La Goulou, did not disappoint and has become a dinner go-to on the island. The large, airy dining room has a great buzz and the food and service are very memorable.
shop
Worth Ave. is a well-known must-visit when you’re shopping in Palm Beach. The streets are lined with a full roster of top designer names, from Chanel to Bottega Veneta, and our favorite can’t-miss pit stop: Raptis Rare Books. After you’ve visited the big names, take the time to discover the small vias that wind around behind the main drag, where you’ll find smaller boutiques and quaint little corners. One of our favorites is CJ Laing, a well-curated shop full of luxury resortwear, jewelry, and more.
The Royal Poinciana Plaza is a welcome newcomer, complete with shops, restaurants, and beautiful outdoor foliage. We could spend a whole afternoon roaming here, with a coffee break at San Ambroeus.
play
Don’t miss a bike ride on the 5.5 mile lake trail, where you’ll be able to drool over some of the most magnificent mansions in the country.
Part of Palm Beach’s appeal is due in no small part to its lush flora. The Four Arts Garden and The Philip Hulitar Sculpture Garden are great places to explore the work of renowned sculptors amidst beautiful floral paths, ponds, and fountains.
Pan’s Garden is another natural oasis—with 300 species of native trees and wildflowers. It’s easy to spend a while getting acquainted with this tropical paradise.
