who are your style icons?

My style icons have to start with the stars of every ’70s Blaxploitation film (faves being Shaft and Superfly). I believe they are the ones who made the biggest contribution to what we know as ‘70s fashion, my favorite era.

Anyone who was a regular at Studio 54 is a forever fashion icon. The list is too long but we can start with Bianca Jagger, Grace Jones, Jerry Hall, Debbie Harry, and Elsa Peretti. Oh and I LOVE Stevie Nicks. 

I loved Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy. I love Kate Moss so much, especially for her passion for vintage and being always and forever the epitome of Rock ’n’ Roll supermodel chic! 

Carine Roitfeld and Carlyne Cerf de Dudzeele are my favorite stylists. 

And not to sound cliche, but of course my mother. She was the chicest and most glamorous woman I have personally ever known.

what are your five key wardrobe pieces?

A ONE MOON cashmere wrap, a great pair of vintage Levi’s, a gorgeous camisole (Sabbia Rosa is my favorite), a high- heeled mule (Bottega Veneta Lido for me), and a gorgeous classic handbag. Bottega, Chanel, and Celine are my favorites.

what is your favorite recent purchase?

Other than my most recent ONE MOON purchase (which was the Bianca and I die!) it would have to be a necklace I designed with my friend and jewelry designer Andrea Groussman, and her custom made-to-order line, Power Peace Jewels. I also really love my new anklets custom made by Kimberly Senzaki. I guess I’m into jewelry right now. I love supporting women-owned businesses and these two ladies make it easy as their pieces are amazing one- offs. 

where is your favorite travel destination?

Anywhere in Italy. Like they say, “Italian’s do it better.”

do you have any great packing tips?

In order to not over pack, plan out each outfit precisely and photograph them so you have the looks on your phone when you arrive. Don’t pack anything extra…and black is a key color when I travel because it goes with everything!

dow do you style your One Moon wrap?

Well my Bianca I recently wore over a bathing suit and when evening came I belted it and threw on a sandal. So chic! My Mariposa I wear the way it is supposed to be worn or sometimes I tie the leather ties behind me under the cashmere and it gives it a more open feel. The wraps and shawls are so versatile and I literally take them everywhere with me. How did I survive before I discovered ONE MOON!?
