MONTHLY MUSE : MICHELLE BOOR
A spotlight Q&A series featuring beautiful people that inspire us. Michelle Boor / Fashion Designer ... and American in Paris!
Michelle is the rare American who can teach Parisian women a thing or two about style. After a career at French design houses, she has recently partnered with a bespoke men's shirt maker to create a line of made-to-measure shirts .... but made for a woman: Micky x Daniel Levy.
Our visual director, Joshua Klein, recently visited Michelle at her home base in Lille, France to photograph how she styles One Moon pieces with her own creations.

What inspired you to start Micky?
After a weekend in Amsterdam with my guy (Eugene) and finding nothing that suited me to buy in terms of my style, he said ''Why don't you do your own thing?''
What are your top three wardrobe staples?
-
A good coat—every woman needs at least one excellent quality coat. After that the rest just looks so much better; mine is Celine by Phoebe Philo. I have one in camel, beige and dark navy blue.
-
My Hermes riding boots in black.
-
My Micky x Daniel Levy shirt, of course!

How has your style evolved since moving to Paris?
I would say both my style and eye have changed, not being afraid to be elegant, buying more expensive (and less) that lasts longer, never looking too perfect, mixing chic with a 'je ne sais quoi'' attitude, a casual elegance evolved.
What brings you joy?
My son ... traveling ... laughter (Eugene is hysterical so he's got me in stitches half the time).

What is your rose and your thorn about being a business owner?
I am extremely creative, so I love being creative and creating what I believe in, bringing joy to my clients. The business side is less of a pleasure for me, but I am learning!
If you are interested in a Micky x Daniel Levy chemise .... Michelle can book you a rendezvous in Paris or take you through the customization process remotely.
