Our deep love for California is no secret, and we’re big fans of a drive up the coast. One of our favorite destinations is the sleepy little town of Big Sur. We love its majestic coastline, its towering redwoods, and its ability to transport us to what feels like another world. Here are a few stops we like to make along the way.
our splurge (and one of our favorite hotels of all time) is post ranch inn. from the luxury tree houses to the jaw-dropping restaurant views, a stay here is nothing short of magical.
if you’re looking for a more budget-friendly option, glen oaks is a wonderful lodging option. book one of their rustic-modern cabins housed in a redwood grove.

hawthorne gallery - a great place to browse contemporary art in a variety of mediums.

henry miller library - an homage to henry miller, once a big sur local, the library sells books penned by him and other local writers, while also serving as a community center and outdoor venue for events, lectures, and concerts.
pfeiffer big sur state park - a great place for an easy hike among the redwoods or an uphill trek on mount manuel.
pfeiffer beach - one of the most picturesque beaches in big sur, and a great sunset spot.
esalen - a famed wellness retreat center in a breathtaking locale, esalen is a great place to enjoy a workshop or seminar…and don’t miss the hot mineral baths.
