Our latest road trip took us to the rolling hills and lush vineyards of the Napa Valley. There is something so special about this serene, earthy locale—so special that we extended our trip because none of us wanted to leave! Aside from the obvious draw of ever-flowing wine and world famous wineries, we found Napa to hold some great gems in the way of accommodations, eats, and shopping. Here are a few of our favorites.

We spent three glorious nights at Carneros Resort and Spa. The grounds were perfectly picturesque, and the cozy cottage setup with generously-sized patios (and fire pits) offers privacy and room to stretch out with some smores. 

food + wine

We had a fabulous dinner at Press in St. Helena. From beginning to end their fresh, innovative cuisine kept our palates intrigued and satisfied. 

For a casual stop and lots of variety, head to the Oxbow Public Market where you’ll find 40,000 square feet filled with local food vendors, artisan cafes, and organic produce. Don’t miss the nachos at C Casa or the craft beer at Fieldwork Brewing.

There is certainly an overabundance of great options when it comes to wine, but one of our favorite wineries in town is Blackbird Vineyards. An artisanal producer of Pomerol-inspired varieties, Blackbird produces some of the most wonderful bottles we’ve had the pleasure of tasting. 

When coffee time calls, head to Kelly’s Filling Station and Wine Shop. As the name implies, it’s a unique mix of upscale gas station, wine shop, and coffee bar.
